Print-friendly Version

Cracks scratches and small holes are easily repaired without much difficulty.

Tools

  • rags
  • fine grain sandpaper
  • filling knife / spatula

Steps

  1. Lay old newspaper or an old sheet around the area, as this task can create some dust.
  2. Clean the area surrounding the hole makes sure there is no dust on the wall surrounding the hole.
  3. If the area to be repaired is a scratch or a dent use joint filler. Simply apply some joint filler with filling knife of spatula evenly along the scratched or dented surface.
If the dent or small hole is deep apply one cover of joint filler; scour the surface; let dry and apply another layer.
  4. It is always better to over fill the area and sand back to match the existing wall.
  5. Once the joint filler is dry use a fine grain sandpaper and sand back the area to match the surrounding wall.
  6. With a slightly damped cloth wipe the area free of any dust.
